Sewing has been my passion ever since I could sit on a stack of encyclopedias high enough to see the needle with the foot peddle propped on a taller stack of books.
We were, like everyone in rural WV, hard working farmers. I was the smallest and learned to hate hand-me-downs. So, I decided to learn to sew well enough to hide the fact that my clothes were homemade. By junior high I was competing at the national level in 4-H (and yes, they still made me take home economics). By 8th grade I was making clothes for many of my friends and the ladies at church. I married a teacher and continued sewing anything folks needed to keep food on the table...and I have never stopped sewing anything that can fit under a presser foot.
Be it new creations, alterations and tailoring, hems, patches, mending, or repair...I can do almost anything that can be sewn. It would be my pleasure to work with you to create something new or alter your garments and produce items that you love, to your exact specifications. Evening appointments are preferred.
